Featuring LocoRobo founder, Dr. Pramod Abichandani

Dr. Abichandani serves as professor in the areas of Robotics and Data Science and has taught at Drexel University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the Wharton School of Business. In addition, he is 1 of 4 directors of the 2nd largest makerspace in the world at NJIT and selected to help redesign the Next Generation Science Standards.

For Grades K-5

As computer programming is becoming increasingly accessible in elementary and middle schools, it necessitates that students quickly transition from graphical blocks to real-world coding. The notion of mechanical design and construction has evolved beyond the use of building kits to 2D/3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), laser cutting, and 3D printing.

LocoRobo empowers teachers to prepare students with a modern ecosystem of robots, drones, and wearable devices that are codable in real-word programming languages and incorporate Computer Aided Design.

For Grades 6-12

Modern STEM / STEAM career pathways necessitate a sound foundation in computer programming, data science, and Computer Aided Design (CAD). LocoRobo prepares students for these STEM/STEAM pathways through the lens of modern robotics and industry standard coding.

What You Will Learn

For the K-5 educator, you will learn exciting strategies to synergize classic robotics programs based on Vex and Lego with modern robotics such as codable drones, codable robotic arms, and Internet of Things sensor kits.

For the 6-12 educator, you will learn exciting strategies to add modern robotics and real coding to your existing STEM/STEAM and robotics curriculum.
